  • How should I take care of my new tattoo?
Here are some essential steps to follow for tattoo aftercare: 1. Keep the bandage on for no longer than 2 hours, then gently wash the tattoo with warm water. If you're using Second Skin, keep it on for no longer than 3 days. 2. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel and allow it to air dry before applying a thin layer of tattoo aftercare cream. 3. Be sure to gently apply the tattoo aftercare cream 2-3 times a day for the first 2 weeks, and continue with clean, gentle washes and moisturizing as the tattoo heals. 4. Avoid direct sunlight, swimming, saunas, and hot tubs for at least 1 week, as well as any activities that may cause excessive sweating or friction on the tattooed area. 5. Itching is normal during the healing process, but do not scratch or pick at the tattoo as this can lead to infection and affect the outcome of the tattoo. Following these steps will help ensure your new tattoo heals properly and maintains its vibrant, crisp appearance. If you have any concerns during the healing process, feel free to reach out to our artists.
  • Why does the color of the tattoo look different than seen on the computer/phone screen?
The color of a tattoo can look different than what is seen on a computer or phone screen due to various factors. One key factor is the difference between digital screens and the human skin. Tattoos are applied to the skin which has its own unique undertones and texture. Additionally, the color of the ink may appear differently on different skin tones. At Psychopomp Tattoo, our tattoo artists take these factors into consideration when designing and applying tattoos. During the consultation process, we discuss the desired colors and work with our clients to choose the most suitable options. Our goal is to ensure that the colors chosen for your tattoo will complement your skin tone and appearance. If you have any specific concerns about color, our team is always available to provide guidance and recommendations.
  • Will tattoos fade?
It's important to note that all tattoos will fade over time due to factors such as sun exposure, aging, and the natural regeneration of skin cells. To help maintain the longevity of your tattoos, we recommend using sunscreen to protect the ink from fading and scheduling touch-up appointments as needed to keep your tattoos looking their best.
